Iconic ‚Fruit Bowl‘ by Hans J. Wegner, model No. JH-586 designed in 1958 and hand-crafted by the master cabinetmaker Johannes Hansen in Copenhagen. 
„Wegner presented the Fruit Bowl at the annual Cabinetmakers’ Guild Autumn Exhibition, where a journalist questioning the reason for the unusual extravagance of the piece confronted him: “Well, sometimes you would like to just let it all go!” Wegner replied. Still the Fruit Bowl seems comfortable in its beauty and as usual with Wegner, all shapes, angles and proportions somehow could not have been made differently. 
Wegner demonstrates with great elegance what such an expressive carving of solid wood can offer.“
