Herbert Krenchel Krenit Bowl Torben Ørskov 1950s

Rare Krenit bowl designed in 1953 by Herbert Krenchel and made by Torben Ørskov in Denmark in the 1950s. Made of a thin metal sheet, covered in fibre cement and enamelled in a vibrant red.


Herbert Krenchel was a material scientist and won the gold medal at the Milan Triennale in 1954 with the Krenit bowl. The name „Krenit“ was composed of the creators name and the material Eternit (fibre cement).
