‚AMIRAL’ armchair designed by Karin Mobring for IKEA, made in Sweden, launched in 1970 and produced between 1970-73.

Made of chromed steel with thick saddle leather seat and back.

Beautiful patina to leather, the chromed frame has been cleaned and polished, signs of use and age.

Karin Mobring was the first female designer to work for IKEA, she designed some of the most popular IKEA products of their time.

„Featuring a steel tubing frame with the seat, back and armrests made from high-end saddle leather from a local saddle maker in Killeberg, AMIRAL was a hit. However, the saddlery couldn’t keep up with the demand for the leather details and the construction of the frame meant the chair couldn’t be flat-packed, so it was discontinued.“
