Gunnar Flørning Pelican Laurids Lønborg 1959

Very rare pelican designed by Gunnar Flørning in 1959 after visiting the zoo with his daughter. She was so fascinated by the pelicans that he started to make sketches of them. 

The pelican became part of a wooden animal series for the Danish manufacturer Laurids Lønborg. 

Made of solid beech wood, partly black lacquered. This small pelican version is extremely hard to find!

Very good original condition with normal signs of use and age, some color fading on the edge of the beak.
